The Rockettes

Project Overview

Project Description

In early 2015, Madison Square Garden came to us for help with the website for The Rockettes, the iconic performance group known for its Christmas shows at Radio City Music Hall. The Rockettes site was receiving increased mobile traffic, but it wasn’t responsive and its uptime was only about 85%. The Voce Platforms team immediately set out on a complete renovation of the site’s infrastructure. We moved the site to a WordPress platform that would be responsive on mobile devices and have much better uptime. The design grew and iterated over time, with three major overhauls prior to launch. We also coordinated with Ticketmaster to integrate direct ticket purchases on the mobile site.

After the relaunch, site uptime went from 85% to 99.99%. The move to a mobile-friendly site, combined with the content team publishing to a social-friendly platform, increased mobile traffic by 246%. Other metrics like sessions, pageviews, and unique visitors also rose significantly, since the site was more reliable, more accessible, and easier to navigate.
